2026 Kia Sportage ICE
The 2026 Kia Sportage will likely mirror the well-known structure of its predecessor, which means LX FWD, LX, EX, EX Premium, and X-Line Limited trim levels. This gas-only version of the Sportage features the familiar 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that develops 187 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque. The standard transmission is an eight-speed automatic, and front-drive and AWD drivetrains are available. The new exterior styling mimics the new look of larger SUVs in the Kia family, and the interior gets a new steering wheel and dashboard layout. The tech upgrades are just as impressive, with dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays, remote parking assist, a new version of Highway Driving Assist, and a head-up display.
2026 Kia Sportage HEV
If you like the look of the new Sportage but are concerned about fuel economy, the new 2026 Kia Sportage HEV is the way to go. The Sportage HEV looks identical to the gas-only model on the inside and outside. Nothing about the way it drives feels different from a gas-only model, except the 2026 Sportage HEV is a little faster and more powerful. The hybrid system employed is based on a 1.6-litre gas engine, and the combined output of that and the electric motors is 231 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s a four-horsepower uplift from the previous model. The HEV EX and HEV SX trim levels are exclusively all-wheel-drive, with fuel economy ratings of 6.1 L/100 km in the city, 6.3 L/100 km on the highway, and 6.2L/100 km combined.
2026 Kia Sportage PHEV
The 2026 Kia Sportage PHEV is a plug-in hybrid whose larger battery allows for up to 55 km of electric-only driving from a full charge. The Sportage PHEV also offers another increase in power: 261 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque, which is seven horsepower more than its pre-facelift predecessor. The interior is spacious, comfortable, and very contemporary, with those large screens giving all the information you could wish for, including details of how much charge and range the battery has onboard. In gas-only driving mode, the Sportage PHEV gets 6.6 L/100 km in the city, 6.7 L/100 km on the highway, and 6.7 L/100 km combined. However, the hybrid mode with the electric-only range factored in, the fuel economy is a remarkable 2.7 Le/100 km in the city, 3.0 Le/100 km on the highway, and 2.8 Le/100 km combined.
